Over many years our contractors have refined and perfected the stump to customer supply chain to make us the best at what we do.

Now we bring the Ribbonwood advantage to others by welcoming new wood suppliers into the group and offering our own contract log harvesting and cartage services.

  • Steve Yeoman - Owner/Manger Ribbonwood Radiata - Flat terrain harvesting - skidder crew

    After achieving his Batchelor of Forestry degree Steve went to Tasman Forestry on a scholarship working in the original Fletcher forest estate.

    While there he spent several years covering a range of responsibilities extending from silviculture, Harvest Planning and scheduling through to Logging supervision and Value Recovery.

    He started up his own logging business in the form of Ribbonwood Radiata back in 2000 and is now a highly respected groundbased harvesting contractor renowned for running a very tight and efficient ship.

    Steve has now been involved in the industry for the last 15 years. When the machines are parked up Steve enjoys time with his wife Julie and their three children as well as competing in enduro motorcross events.

    With strong family links to logging Leon became one of the youngest ever contractors in his own right at 25 years of age.

    With 15 years industry experience now behind him Leon is an accredited FITEC trainier/assessor who has personally achieved five separate National certificates in his own right.

    Leon’s crew specializes in harvesting difficult terrain and has been nationally recognized as a finalist at the 2007 FITEC industry training awards and has already won the National Top Spot skidwork competition two years running.

    Away from work Leon is a keen fly fisherman and a Fish & Game Ranger. He has also competes successfully in clay target shooting previously winning the NZ junior title.

    Mike Brolly - Owner/Manager Ribbonwood & Brolly - Steep to ultra steep terrain harvesting – hauler crew

    Mike is a third generation logger with a lifetime of cable logging experience, derived from years of harvesting steeper forest contour in Ireland, Scotland and New Zealand.

    Although he also has extensive experience in clearfell groundbased logging, and woodlot forest operations, Mike thrives on the challenges associated with cable logging in steep country.

    Mike runs Ribbonwood and Brolly Logging, a large hauler crew contracted exclusively to Ribbonwood New Zealand. The crew specialises in harvesting trees in steep and difficult conditions.

    When he is not pulling logs from the hills, Mike enjoys spending time with his family on their dairy farm. Though he spent his earlier years growing up in Ireland, Mike is also now a firm All Blacks supporter.

    David Cameron - Owner/Manager Fernz Group - Forest cartage and Distribution

    David (Digby) Cameron has been involved in the logging cartage industry for the last 22 years. He has a vast experience in driving many truck configurations throughout North Island Forests and woodlots and currently holds a National Certificate in log truck driving.

    In the past 5 years he has been responsible for managing Ribbonwood NZ’s cartage operations and initiating the development of Fernz Group our dedicated trucking fleet of which he is shareholding director.
    Digby always retains a positive outlook towards the industry, its people and his drivers.
